Terms and Conditions
Effective October 26, 2026. Last updated October 26, 2026.
These Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using tatmonkey.com. Please read them along with our Privacy Policy, which explains what information the site collects and how it is used. The Privacy Policy is a separate document; these Terms do not replace it.
Simply visiting the site does not, by itself, sign you up for anything, and nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
Read our Privacy Policy too.
1. Who runs this site
Tatmonkey.com is operated by Michael P. Myers, an individual in Orange County, California ("we," "us" or "our"). Tattooed Monkey, the Church of the Tattooed Monkey, the Temple Library and Tattooed Monk are names used for creative, publishing and community projects presented on this site.
References to the Church of the Tattooed Monkey describe the spiritual and community side of the Tattooed Monkey project. Nothing on this site is a statement about legal incorporation or tax status, and nothing here asks you to join, pay dues or make a donation.
The best way to reach us about these Terms is the contact form at tatmonkey.com/contact.
2. Using the site
You may browse, read and share links to the site for your own personal, lawful purposes. Please do not:
- use the site in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights;
- try to get into private areas of the site, including the Admin login, or interfere with its security, forms, email delivery or hosting;
- send spam, malware or automated bulk submissions through the forms or newsletter signup;
- copy the site's content in bulk, or scrape it, in ways these Terms do not allow.
The site is meant for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the newsletter or forms. If you are under 18, please use the site with a parent or guardian's involvement.
3. Our content and what you may do with it
Unless we say otherwise, the writing, artwork, characters, videos, newsletters, book covers, logos and other material on this site belong to us or are used with permission. Tattooed Monkey, the seal artwork and the character names are part of our brand.
You may read and view this material and share links to it. You may quote short excerpts with credit and a link back. You may not republish, sell, or redistribute our material, or present it as your own, without our written permission.
4. Downloads, books and printables
When you buy or download one of our workbooks, prompt kits, books or other files, you get a personal license to use it for yourself. That includes printing copies for your own personal use, such as filling in a printable workbook or coloring a page. Unless the product page says otherwise, you may not resell, share, upload or distribute the file, or use it in products of your own.
If a product page shows its own license, that product-specific license applies to that product.
5. Where purchases happen
Tatmonkey.com does not take payments itself. Buy buttons and shop links take you to other platforms, which handle the checkout:
- Digital workbooks, prompt kits and free downloads are sold or delivered through Gumroad.
- Printed books are sold through Amazon.
- Clothing is sold through our Printify store, which handles checkout, printing and shipping.
Before you pay, the platform shows the price, taxes, delivery details and its own terms and refund policy. Those platform terms, and the product page, govern your purchase. A click from this site to one of those platforms is not a purchase, and we do not see your payment details.
Our goal is that you are happy with what you buy. If something you bought from us is not right, contact us through the contact form and we will try to help. These Terms do not limit any refund or consumer rights you have under law or under the platform's policies.
6. Characters, AI-assisted content and accuracy
Lily, Sage, Mist Monk, Aiko Ren and other characters on this site are fictional. Their images and voices are created with AI tools, and we say so on their pages. Some writing and artwork on the site is also created with the help of AI tools and reviewed by us.
We work to be accurate, but content can contain mistakes or become out of date. Some of it is satire, storytelling or entertainment, and should be read that way. Please check important facts for yourself.
7. Not professional advice, and no promised results
The Temple Library, the Church of the Tattooed Monkey, our books, workbooks and videos share reflections, education and spiritual exploration. They are not individualized medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other professional advice, and they do not create a professional relationship. If you need that kind of help, please talk with a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
We do not promise any particular income, business result, health outcome or spiritual outcome from anything on this site, including the AI prompt kits.
8. Wedding officiant and contact inquiries
Sending the wedding or contact form is a request to talk. It does not book a date, hold a date, or create an agreement. Michael replies by email. If you decide to work together, the date, ceremony details, fee and any cancellation or rescheduling terms will be set out and agreed separately, in writing, for your wedding.
Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the forms.
9. The Temple Library newsletter
Signing up for the Temple Library newsletter is voluntary and separate from these Terms. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops future newsletter emails. How we handle your email address is explained in the Privacy Policy.
10. Links to other websites
The site links to other services, including Gumroad, Amazon, Printify, YouTube, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and Beacons. Those services are run by other companies, under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them, and a link does not mean that we guarantee their products or services.
Right now, the shop links on this site point to our own products. If we ever earn a commission or receive payment for recommending someone else's product, we will say so clearly next to that recommendation, not only on this page.
11. Ideas and messages you send
We are glad to hear from you. If you send us an idea, suggestion or feedback, we may use it without owing you anything, but we will not publish your name or message without your permission.
12. Copyright concerns
If you believe something on this site uses your work without permission, please tell us through the contact form. Include your name and a way to reach you, a description of the work, where it appears on this site, and why you believe it is unauthorized. We will review it and respond.
13. The site is provided as it is
We work to keep the site available, accurate and secure, but we provide it "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we do not make promises or warranties about the site beyond those stated in these Terms, including promises that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.
14. Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, that come from using or being unable to use the free parts of this site.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes responsibility that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including responsibility for fraud, for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or for rights you have under consumer protection law.
15. If you misuse the site
If you break these Terms in a way that harms us or other people, for example by attacking the site or misusing our content, you are responsible for the reasonable losses and costs that result, to the extent the law allows. We may also limit or block access that we reasonably believe is abusive or unsafe.
16. Law and disagreements
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement.
If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will note it clearly on this page. Changes apply from their effective date onward; they do not change the terms that applied to a purchase or event before that date.
18. Other legal details
If part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce part of these Terms right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
19. Contact
